She / Her / Hers

Georgia-based oil and watercolor artist, Margalena Lepore, captures skies because she believes perspective relies on what you choose to focus; for her, it’s about looking up. Not only do skies inspire her work, they play a key role in her passion to facilitate healing by creating scenes that invite one into spaces of rest. Oils enable her to simulate the texture and movement of a storm rolling in or out; to add dimension to the waters and fields which support the skies. Life is full of unexpected events which can be disappointing, confusing, and at times, irreversible. Understanding the discouragement of these events, Margalena captures the restorative beauty of the sky to refocus the point of view. Her hope, as you regard her work, is that you find a place of rest and healing. One in which you realize, you are not alone. If we look up, our focus shifts. We glimpse something bigger. Stronger. It doesn’t make the journey any less difficult, but it does make it a little more beautiful. Perspective is essential in art, but even more vital in life. It changes the view. It changes everything.
