Gina McGuire is a Native Hawaiian woman, currently pursuing doctoral work on coastal ecology and wellbeing through the lens of Hawaiian healing practice. She holds master's degrees in Creative Writing from Lancaster University and Tropical Conservation Biology from University of Hawaiʻias well as a BA in International Relations from Stanford University. Gina grew up in the rainforests of Hawaiʻi Island listening to the ua (rain), dripping down through the native canopy and ferns, as hō'ailona (signs) of those who have come before.
