She / Her / Hers / They / Them / Theirs

Emily Knudson is a queer itinerant activist originally from Minnesota. She has canoed the Mississippi River from source to sea twice as an expedition guide, educator, and learner.

Knudson constantly experiments with finding ways to live in the margins of capitalism, and to use that freedom to move in ways that can help bring us to a more environmentally sustainable and equitable world.

Her art often involves themes of reclaiming and rewriting memories, and she is driven by her truth that all that is not recorded will be forgotten. As a queer person assigned female at birth, she understands the power of creating queer feminist futurities and respresentations of life outside of heteronormitivity, capitalism, and colonial structures.

Her work simultaneously remembers, dreams, and leaps toward queer utopias and a better world for all living things.
