Demon Mineral Screening

  • The Chapter House 1770 Glendale Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90026 United States (map)

Please join The Chapter House Monday, April 22, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm for a special screening of the award-winning film Demon Mineral

Demon Mineral, directed by Hadley Austin, co-written by Dr. Tommy Rock, and produced by Emma Robbins and Nevo Shinaar, is an account of life in the wake of uranium mining on sacred lands. Shot over the course of four years with Diné community collaboration, guidance, and oversight, the film examines the legacy of uranium extraction from the perspectives of both the landscape and its inhabitants. Framed entirely by Indigenous voices and testimonies, Demon Mineral is about an active, multigenerational process of reclamation.

Hadley Austin will be present alongside Emma Robbins for a Q + A after the screening. Snacks and refreshments (and zines!) will be provided. (Feel free to bring your own dinner if this is during your supper time!) Our address is 1770 Glendale Blvd., but please enter at the gate on Branden St. Parking is available on residential streets around The Chapter House. This event is free and open to all. Please register at bit.ly/tch_dm.
