SSSP would like to invite Los Angeles Indigenous community members to join our Reclaiming our Health in 2023 event. We will be learning how to center wellness and health from Well For Culture.
Well For Culture is a grassroots initiative that aims to reclaim and revitalize Indigenous health and wellness. They study and implement the lifestyle teachings of our ancestors, meanwhile incorporating new information to contribute to this ancient and ongoing chain of knowledge. Indigenous culture has always been dynamic, and wellness is an inherent aspect.
Well for Culture will provide a keynote presentation to the group at large, and after we will transition into breakout sessions where participants will engage with facilitators in smaller group settings around different wellness practices and teachings.
We will have the following three breakout sessions available for the community to participate in. Please select the breakout session you would like to join when ordering your ticket.
-Deep Dive Into The Seven Circles Of Wellness led by Chelsey Luger (Anishinaabe & Lakota) and Thosh Collins (O’odham, Osage, & Seneca-Cayuga)
-Pow Wow Dance Lesson Led by Stormie Perdash (Shoshone-Bannock)
-Mind, Body, and Spirit Wellness Workshop led by Jessa Calderon (Chumash / Tongva)
This is a free event for Los Angeles Indigenous community members.
A lactation room will be provided.
